McGill’s Buses, the UKs largest independent bus operator and Scottish Public Transport Operator of the Year 2022, are recruiting for a Bright Bus Tours General Manager to join our team in the East of Scotland, based at our office right in the heart of Edinburgh City Centre in Hanover Street.
The rewards are there for a job well done, as we grow our successful, start-up tour business in a competitive marketplace, with a £45-50k base salary with bonus potential, based on improved sales.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to lead the Bright Bus Tours Team, proactively promote this open-top tours business and drive increased sales. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in inspiring and motivating the team, driving the Bright Bus Tours brand by increasing and inspiring our customers and sales. This role may involve occasional travel between our other depots located in the East of Scotland.
What you’ll do…
- Develop, lead, and inspire a quality Bright Bus Tours team with general management of around 60 colleagues
- Proactively promote Bright Bus Tours and contribute new ideas to drive the business and sales
- Build relations around Edinburgh with other attractions, agencies and partners, as well as with touring groups, such as schools, sports teams and employers, and those in the local community
- Manage the smooth delivery of the tours around Edinburgh ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained and we comply with our Operators Licence requirements, delivering against our suite of KPIs
- Monitor performance and provide accurate weekly reporting on customer footfall and the success of promotions
- Maintain a continuous review of customer feedback, build action plans, and take appropriate action when required
