Job Type: Full-time 48hrs/week.

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 DOE pa. + Tips

Job Summary:

Our new Craft Beer Venue seeks a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to join our team. The General Manager will work closely with the owners / Directors to develop and implement strategies to drive revenue and improve overall customer experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our licensed premises, overseeing a small team of waiting staff, and acting as an all-in-1 person who can alternate between chef, trainer and barista.

Responsibilities:

· Managing the day-to-day operations of the cafe restaurant.

· Providing excellent customer service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

· Supervising and training a small team of waiting staff.

· Acting as the chef when necessary, preparing hot food such as bar snacks like chicken wings, fried food in a deep fat fryer, chips, pizzas, and paninis. And possibly cakes, bakery items like croissants and pain au chocolate.

· Upselling cakes and bakery items like croissants and pain au chocolate, baked locally and brought in to accompany hot drinks.

· Preparing all types of coffee and frappes as a barista, preparing and serving a full range of alcoholic drinks and (ideally) cocktails.

· Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.

· Ensure the company is aware of and complies with all relevant health, safety and hygiene standards to ensure the safety and well-being of customers and staff.

· Knowledge of Food Hygiene Regulations, Health and Safety at Work Act, Food Standards Agency (FSA) Guidelines, Environmental Health Regulations, Food Hygiene Rating Scheme, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Fire Safety Regulations.

· Monitoring and managing inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed.

· Creating and implementing procedures to increase efficiency and improve service.

· Managing finances, including cash handling, reporting, and budgeting.

· Assisting with marketing and promoting the cafe restaurant.

· Setting rotas and managing disciplinary.

· Also, must be trained and proficient in first aid provision, crowd management, and customer complaint handling.

· Cellar management and line cleaning.

· Develop and implement systems and procedures to optimise cafe bar operations, including inventory management, ordering, and financial reporting.

· Collaborate with the Owners / Directors to create and implement marketing strategies to drive revenue and increase customer engagement.

· Manage the cafe bar budget, including forecasting, revenue tracking, and expense management.

· Foster a positive, collaborative work environment, promoting open communication and teamwork.

· Manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing and maintain inventory levels.

· Stay current with industry trends and innovations, incorporating new ideas into the cafe bar operations as appropriate.

Requirements:

· At least 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

· 2 years of management experience, preferably in a similar role.

· A Level 2 in Food and Hygiene.

· Passion for, interest in, experience and knowledge of craft beer would be a definite advantage.

· First Aid Training.

· Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.

· Knowledge of Fire Safety regulations.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work well under pressure and multitask effectively.

· Strong leadership and management with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.

· Flexible availability, including weekends and evenings.

· Passion for food, beverage, and hospitality, committed to delivering high-quality products and service.

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred.

· It would be an advantage to hold a personal alcohol license.
