Working Environment

Elior UK is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate General Manager to lead our dynamic team at Hibernian Football Club.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across Hibernian FC’s matchday and non-matchday business, encompassing hospitality, retail, and conferencing, reporting directly to Regional Managing Director.

You will oversee the management of two operational budgets, retail, and operations, to deliver site-level operating profit, to effectively grow and retain the contract.

Job Description

You will lead all day-to-day operational planning and delivery, offering best practices and guidance to the onsite teams, in line with business objectives and company standards to achieve and maximize set targets.

Your key responsibilities as General Manager will consist of:

Business Leadership
  • Develops a service-led work environment, ensuring offers and initiatives are implemented delivering growth, profitability & continuous improvement
  • Leads, and actively contribute to, Hibernian FC operational function, planning, budgeting, and activity
  • Proactively manages site-related issues through the management team
  • Leads planning process for matchday hospitality, non-matchday C&B, and retail
  • Monitors individual performance of direct reports versus targets
  • Instills a culture of achievement, results, and continuous improvement
  • Instigates and implements best operational practices at site level
  • Co-ordinates site operational activities as required
  • Participates in site-related retention projects
  • Takes an active role in working with other management in implementing and delivering long-term strategy
Planning & Organization
  • Enacts the operations strategy for Hibernian FC
  • Actively manages the annual budget and business plan, for Operations and Retail, working with Regional Managing Director
  • Meets and achieves challenging operational targets
  • Provides daily and monthly reports to the Regional Managing Director as appropriate
  • Builds internal relationships to enable delivery of service offer
  • Builds external relationships to attract talent to the company
Competence & Development
  • Acts as an operational liaison between Hibernian FC’s Events Team and Elior UK, ensuring good relations at all times
  • Manages and controls overhead costs within all agreed budgets
  • Seek opportunities to drive site sales and reduce costs where appropriate
  • Ensure policies and procedures are in place to achieve and support agreed service standards
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with reports, ensuring appropriate training and development is provided
  • Ensures succession and appraisal databases are maintained to the required standard
  • Proactively manage the site and operational risk where these exist
  • Ensure operational activities meet administrative requirements in respect of health & safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and duty of care

  • Proven experience of successfully managing a team
  • Genuine interest in customer service excellence
  • Significant experience within a management - Contract Catering experience desirable
