About Us:
Dr. Funk: Rum House + Kitchen is a tiki bar and restaurant in lively San Pedro Square District. We pay homage to the tiki motif of the 1930s invented by Trader Vic and Donn Beach. We’ve sought to create a fantasy world that is not hinged on any single location; but rather one that encompasses the concept of escapism by incorporating and embracing elements from the Caribbean, to the South Pacific, to Asia and beyond! In doing so, we’ve created a backdrop that is thrilling, fascinating and alluring—where our guests come to escape the mundane.
Position Summary Overview:
Responsible for overall operations of the bar and kitchen, which includes overseeing the both back and front of house, monitoring inventory, and ensuring quality customer service and compliance with all food and beverage regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Manage restaurant with focus on guest satisfaction
- Manage kitchen operations
- Leads team with a positive and professional attitude
- Staff development: trains, hires and schedules employees
- Contribute to the overall profitability of the restaurant by effectively managing labor and inventory
Required Experience and Skills:
- 2+ years of related Restaurant Management experience
- Must have bar and beverage experience with a passion for cocktails (A specific interest and enthusiasm for all things tiki not required but recommended)
- RBS certification required before hiring
- ServSafe Manager certification required
- P&L experience is required
- Proficient with MS Excel, Outlook, restaurant POS system management operations
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent training skills
- An open availability (days, nights, weekends)
- Wage will be determined upon experience
