Job Purpose


The key responsibility of the role is to deliver all strands of the Operations Strategy within your cinema. This is to be achieved by leading your team and creating an environment where people are engaged, enabled and empowered.


You will implement the regional strategy and vision to grow your cinema, ensuring that the highest standards are achieved and maintained at all times.


Support the Regional Manager through involvement in additional project work.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Customer Experience

  • Drive high standards of operational excellence across your cinema to ensure a great customer experience
  • Create a culture of empowerment to do the right thing for the customer
  • Familiarise yourself, and take action, with company systems and tools which provide us with customer insight
  • Encourage loyalty and brand recognition
  • Ensure that your cinema carries out robust anti-piracy controls to protect the intellectual property rights of films and alternate content, paying particular attention to vulnerable release alerts


People

  • Accountability for the whole life cycle of all employees
  • Create the culture, lead and engage your team to deliver the vision of becoming the ‘Best Place to Work’
  • Effectively manage the performance and development of your team
  • Act as a coach and mentor where appropriate and deliver quality feedback with a balance of support and challenge
  • Be aware of the wellbeing of yourself, your direct and wider team ensuring active support when required
  • Ensure the cinema is resourced adequately through effective manpower planning
  • Identify and grow the cinema talent pool by identifying development needs and learning opportunities
  • Regularly reward and recognise great performance using the various methods at your disposal
  • Explore every opportunity for your own development, and that of your team
  • Support, drive and encourage all teams to complete the BeReady, BeGreat and BeMore learning programmes
  • Promote an environment of trust, empowerment and ownership cross the leadership team
  • Deliver regular team meetings to ensure effective communication


Driving Performance

  • Have a sound understanding of the business numbers and reporting tools available
  • Take ownership for your cinema results and follow through as needed
  • Ensure that a sensible approach is taken balancing the customer experience with the financial needs of the business
  • Identify ways to increase and maximise revenue and / or reduce costs
  • Maintain a strong focus on growing the companies propositions and our Unlimited offer
  • Know your market and make recommendations to line manager where appropriate


General

  • Keep your building safe in relation to Security and Health and Safety, sharing knowledge and expertise as required across your team
  • Establish practices which deliver consistent standards in cleaning and general housekeeping by frequently walking your building
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed to expected business standards
  • Proactively escalate areas of risk to your line manager
  • Using a variety of methods, ensure an effective cascade of information, whilst promoting regular communication throughout your cinema
  • Be present in your cinema, spending time with all levels (Managing by Wandering Around)
  • Any ad-hoc duties as required to support the needs of the business
