The Role
We have an exciting new position available for an experienced General Manager to join our well-established team within our Charter Fleet Services Division on a full-time permanent basis at our site in Burntisland, Fife.
The successful individual will lead a team of Managers and Specialists to ensure high standards of safety and service delivery and to develop and maintain consistent business operation and development.
Responsible for the development of the Division’s safety, financial, customer and operational performances through an engaged and motivated workforce. The General Manager is responsible for setting objectives, organising, motivating and communicating, measuring and reporting on performance and developing their team and themselves.
Principal Responsibilities
- Manage Vessels schedules and crews.
- Oversee Crew certification and training requirements.
- Manage shore-based personnel effectively.
- Empower shore staff to develop in their role.
- Oversee Vessels maintenance schedules, drydock and requirements with department Technical Superintendent
- Establish and maintain client relationships.
- Develop and complete charter parties with clients.
- Liaise with clients on charter requirements.
- Manage yard plant (cranes)
- Responsible for HSEQ of Charter Fleet Services
- Conduct Monthly safety Audits of the vessel / office and yard.
- Maintain and continuously improve Workboat operations manual.
- Set Annual budget for the department.
- Take a proactive role in Professional bodies such as Workboat Association
- Support operational departments to ensure knowledge is shared throughout the business.
