Incorporated in 1992 and wholly owned by Albertan’s, Alberta Environmental Rubber Products (AERP): is Alberta’s largest scrap tire recycling company. AERP: has been converting scrap tires, using cutting edge technology, into materials that are used in everything from playgrounds, roofing products and athletic tracks. Our state-of-the-art processing plant in northwest Edmonton produces a variety of high-quality rubber products from shred to rubber crumb. We have become the industry leader through proprietary production techniques, consistently high standards and stringent quality control measures. To support the on-going growth of our business, we are currently seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and hands-on General Manager. :

Key Responsibilities:
    • Participate in the establishment, implementation, and communication of corporate strategy
    • Collaborate with ownership to develop the organization’s goals and bring expertise and knowledge to organization to successfully meet established goals
    • Lead department heads in carrying out the organization’s goals and objectives
    • Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials
    • Ensure that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision
    • Establish, communicate, and implement policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent execution
    • Develop and administer annual budget and take full responsibility for overall P&L
    • Review and approve cost control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for operations
    • Present periodic performance reports and metrics to President and ownership
    • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in the tire recycling sector and corporate management
    • Own and manage relationships with key government officials, industry groups, and regulatory agencies
    • Lead senior management team discussions, communications, and issue resolution
    • Establish and maintain strong and supportive relationships with leadership team and other corporate executives, building an atmosphere of trust with team members and customers to promote inter-departmental cohesion and collaboration
    • Bring a creative approach to leading, managing and growing a well-established business
    • Provide outstanding leadership by creating a vision, gaining buy-in and supporting the team to execute on the vision
    • Provide effective communication and vision to each department
    • Ensure a high level of employee engagement to drive satisfaction and enable growth by providing passionate and inspiring leadership creating a culture of excitement, dedication and service
    • Ensure the commitment to customer service is upheld through demonstrated decisions and actions made by the Company
    • Ensure there is an effective recruitment and retention strategy to attract and retain a high caliber team
    • Perform other related duties as needed

Education/Experience:
    • 10 years prior experience in a similar role, ideally in a manufacturing setting
    • Exposure to heavy equipment operation and manufacturing operations
    • Proven and demonstrated record of success in the coaching, development and progression of people
    • Degree, Diploma, or Post Secondary Education in Business, Management, or a related field
