GENERAL FOREMAN
OUR HIGHWAYS BUSINESS
There has never been a better time to join our family, in particular our Highways business where we have seen impressive growth over the last few years achieving tremendous success under the CDF Framework and Midlands Highway Alliance (MHA) amongst other local authority frameworks. Right now, we are poised for continued growth successfully retendering for the MHA strengthened with additional success on the Regional Delivery Partnership with Highways England in the South West and the Eastern regions. We’ve secured a strong pipeline of work over the next few years and in a really strong position to capitalise further so now is the time to update that CV and come and join us, exciting times are ahead!
YOUR ROLE
As General Foreman you will ensure works are executed safely, within programme and to the highest quality standards.
You will;
- Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment.
- Day to day management of site based construction works.
- Responsible for effective coordination of resources working on the project.
- Ensure temporary and permanent works are delivered in accordance with the design.
- Careful material and plant management to meet programme and financial targets.
- Assist in planning and programming with site engineering teams.
- Participate in site discipline meetings to aid effective coordination and delivery of the works.
- Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Permit to Work systems are in place before work commences.
- Assist in the preparation of RAMS, COSHH assessments and safety plans as required.
- Effective liaison and communication with site teams and subcontractors.
- Undertake site inductions with all subcontractors.
- Deliver tool box talks and 10 minute briefings.
- Ensure subcontractors deliver work to meet safety, quality and programme requirements.
- Supervise subcontractors to ensure quality and “right first-time approach”.
- Ensure subcontractors are conforming to their own check sheets.
- Record and update site diaries
YOU
We are looking for passion and a willingness to deliver excellence. If you have solid experience as a General Foreman working on civil engineering projects (ideally highways) with solid structures expertise or earthworks, then get in touch as I want to hear from you. Obviously, you’ll have the usual good stuff such as an SMSTS, CSCS Black and first aid but we are looking for more than just that-we are looking for the right person to drive a positive safety culture as well as motivate and lead the subcontractors on site to strive for exceptional levels of performance, if this is you, call me today!
