Job description
We are looking for a shepherd and general farm worker to live and work on a beautiful Scottish island in the Inner Hebrides, Isle of Colonsay, with a small but vibrant local community. You will be working as part of a team (+ contractors at busy times) running all farming operations on the Colonsay Estate farms which have approximately 1000 ewes and 45 suckler cows.
Short term contract of 6 months would be considered.
General Duties will include:
- Shepherd - gathering and dosing sheep etc
- Feeding cows
- Cleaning/maintenance of farm areas
- Tractor/ forklift driving
Relevant upland/hill livestock experience is essential. You must have your own dog(s).
Experience with all types of farm machinery and relevant tickets essential.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and committed farm worker and in return we offer up to £32000 p.a. (depending on experience) + free accommodation + company vehicle + other benefits.
