Job description
Cathedrals in the UK have appointed Constables and Officers within their churches and estates since the 12th Century, and at Canterbury Cathedral the Constables have worked from their Lodge since 1660AD.
The Cathedral Constabulary currently has 2 vacancies for Gate Control Officers. As the Gate Control Officer you will have the pivotal role of being responsible for controlling access into the Cathedral and its Precincts through its Postern gate. Candidates must be highly vigilant, a customer focused team player and interested in carrying on the traditions of the Constabulary.
The Gate Control Officer normally works 40 hours per week, 7am to 6pm on a 4 days on / 4 days off basis.
