Description My client is a lifestyle & performance fashion brand, they have an exciting role in the team for an experienced Garment Technologist looking for a new challenge. The ideal candidate will be successfully leading and directing the team of garment technologists whilst delivering the brands vision. You will continually drive quality product, with a forward thinking, solutions orientated mindset. The Role: Manage a team of direct reports to support the creative vision, whilst ensuring design/ fit and quality requirements are continually met. Ensure the design/ tech development calendar is clearly understood and adhered to. Support internal design & buying teams with innovative product capsules and core volume drivers. Lead the team in driving solutions on fit, quality and construction methods. Manage in-house training to develop and build continuous improvement. Manage weekly fit meetings, supporting team with product direction and solution to create best product whilst maintaining critical path. Support with new fits and deliver both commercial & innovative thinking. Direct the weekly call with suppliers and communicate findings internally. Direct internal team to ensure all comments/ approvals/ sign offs are aligned with the production critical paths to achieve on-time delivery. Manage the end-to-end product process. Throughout proto/ SMS/ PPS/ GS sample seals. Maintain and grow strong supplier relationships. Working closely with factories on improved ways of working to deliver best practise. Acting when needed to resolve quality/ production issues Build and maintain a thorough understanding of the supply base, exploring, and proposing alternative sources as appropriate. Support the wider business needs with vender ethical and compliance records keeping accurate and up to date information of compliance certifications. Work closely with factory to ensure standards are continually met and evolved. Be responsible for quality. Keep testing manuals updated and aligned with current market standards. Manage AQL reporting with both internal teams and external vendors. Manage quarterly supplier/ vendor reviews. Communicate findings to support the wider business in Key decision making. Conduct frequent return reports and feedback findings to internal product teams to optimise product evolution and drive consumer satisfaction The Candidate: Minimum 5 years’ experience working within a similar role Excellent knowledge of garment construction, pattern cutting, fabrics and the apparel end to end process Experience working with sportswear apparel/activewear Degree in the apparel sector Experience of working with factories in the UK & overseas QC experience with exceptional attention to detail & quality Understanding key product testing requirements Experience in supporting brand returns strategy & setting KPI’s Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment Experienced & confident in leading fit sessions The successful candidate will be organised have a strong eye for detail & able to work across multiple products.
