Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join Ocean Housing as we are recruiting for three full time (40 hours per week) Grounds Maintenance Operative's (Gardner's) to work as part of the Grounds team to provide grounds maintenance services around various Ocean developments in the Cornwall area.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide Grounds Maintenance services and horticultural duties as required across Ocean’s stock including grass cutting, strimming, weeding, maintaining and planting shrubs, trees, plants and other grounds maintenance and gardening tasks
- Assess site conditions and make decisions on most appropriate work to be undertaken and equipment to be used in accordance with weather conditions and best practice
- Conduct estate checks when on site, identifying and reporting any issues that may pose a health and safety risk to the public
- Be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance and daily/routine checks of any plant or machinery provided
Qualifications and Experience
- Educated to NVQ Level 1 qualification (eg GCSE D-E or CSE level 2-5)) or equivalent and Level 1 qualification (eg GCSE D-E or CSE level 2-5 in English/Literacy) or equivalent
- Valid Full Driving Licence
- Grounds Maintenance experience and ability to carry out a wide range of horticultural tasks
- A good understanding of health and safety issues and risks in relation to grounds maintenance
