About Wemyss Lodge:Wemyss Lodge is a nursing and residential care home which has been open for over 20 years in Stratton St. Margaret Swindon, Wiltshire. Our staff team work in partnership to achieve the best possible outcomes for our residents. We have beds providing nursing, respite, dementia, mental health and Complex care units. We are within easy reach of shops, local amenities, and close to public transport.As a Gardener / Handy person, you will help to create safe and attractive surroundings that give our residents the quality care and support they deserve. We take real pride in the quality and appearance of our care home. We also know that our grounds can be a source of great enjoyment for our residents and their visitors.· To maintain gardens neatly and with due regard to safety matters to mow lawns and tend to flower beds and borders as required. To clear away rubbish and debris from the garden and grounds, bagging up waste disposal or composting as appropriate.· To regularly check grounds and to maintain our building and to advise of any repair work that may be required.· To undertake any such repair work as directed by Facilities Manager.· Ensure maintenance and safe and secure storage of garden equipment including mowers strimmer’s and hedge cutters.· Ensure safe and secure storage of all hazardous materials including paints, drain cleaners, fuel and oil for mowers strimmer’s, pesticides, herbicides, and other garden materials in accordance with the requirements of the COSHH.· To undertake other duties as necessary.Help maintain a happy atmosphere and a good level of care based on our values.Job TypeFull-time of 40 hours per weekShifts - 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to FridayBank Holidays paid at enhanced rate.
