Gardener Location: Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Surrey, KT9 2NE Hours: Permanent, with a minimum guarantee of 30 hours per week. We're currently looking for a Gardener to join our Landscapes team at Britain’s Wildest Adventure! About the Role Working in a fast-paced and guest-facing business, Technical Services is a dynamic team responsible for all elements of maintenance across the resort to ensure the park is operating safely and effectively at all times. In this role you will be part of the team responsible for the development and upkeep of more than 120 acres of our wild landscape. Whether maintaining fine lawns or wooded areas and borders, or landscaping new rides and themed attractions, you’ll be working as an integral member of the Landscape Department to provide high standards of horticultural maintenance across the Resort. You can expect to carry out general garden maintenance including grass cutting, weeding, strimming & hedge cutting which includes using machinery such as lawn mowers, strimmer's & hedge cutters. Working to tight time scales & deadlines, maintaining the highest of standards and working in a safe manner you can also expect to be interacting with Adventurers on a daily basis, answering queries about the Resort and its amazing landscape. What we’re looking for NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture or equivalent with some experience working in a horticultural role using a full range of maintenance machinery Good knowledge of plants and a good understanding of horticultural techniques such as pruning, turfing, ground preparation and winter protection An enthusiastic individual with the ability to work in a team and interact with guests, providing a fun day out in a great working environment! Be able to demonstrate a practical understanding of health & safety and be aware of the importance of safe systems of work PA1/PA6 in safe use of pesticides and other NPTC/Lantra certificates would be advantageous, but not essential, as an excellent training programme is provided What’s on offer?
