Brighton College is seeking to appoint a Gardener on a full-time, permanent basis, to start as soon as possible.We are looking for a knowledgeable, qualified and hard-working Gardener to join our team at Brighton College. The successful candidate will be passionate and motivated in their work and able to work confidently alone and within a team.The successful candidate will assist the Gardens Team in providing a beautiful environment for pupils and staff to enjoy. The Garden Team is responsible for maintaining and developing the three school sites, as well as residential properties. We are passionate about working sustainably and are continuously looking at ways to improve in this area.We expect work to be carried out to a high standard, with an awareness of health and safety, as well as being mindful that we are in a school environment.Job responsibilities:Lawn care.Tree and shrub maintenance.Monitoring the health of all plants and greenspaces.Maintaining and developing beds and borders.Weeding, feeding and irrigation.Safeguarding responsibilities:This role will involve daily contact with pupils and you will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.All staff and volunteers have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.Hours of work:The core hours will be 40 per week, Monday to Friday inclusive.
