Job description
Closes Friday 11th August, but please apply as soon as possible as we may close the vacancy early
We are on the lookout for a Junior Unity Developer to join our team at the Zubr studio in Bristol. You’ll be working within our close-knit team to help build interactive augmented and virtual reality experiences for our range of B2B clients. No two days are ever the same for our developers as we undertake exciting projects for a wide range of clients: from historical digital experiences for international museums and heritage sites, to health and safety training programmes for HS2, and VR binoculars and large scale immersive experiences for tradeshows and expos. A ‘normal’ day could involve developing a VR game, calibrating an AR piece with an artistic mural, and discussing ideas to pitch to clients. Our recent clients include the American Battlefield Trust, Derry’s Tower Museum, Network Rail, various district councils, musicians and independent artists.
You’ll mostly be liaising directly with the Lead Developer, from whom you’ll receive technical tasks across several projects at once, so good organisational skills and ability to prioritise are must-haves. You’ll also work with the wider Zubr team more directly on smaller projects, where you may be the sole developer.
We will give you the space to grow within the company - more than just putting your own stamp on your work, you might just find yourself pitching ideas or leading whole projects further down the line.
Don’t worry if you haven’t got experience working with AR or VR specifically; strong coding and Unity skills are much more important. At Zubr we have our own approach to immersive content which you’ll pick up as you work with us. The key requirement is that you are a team player who is passionate about learning and exploring new technologies and you have a keen interest in VR and AR applications.

Hybrid working/WFH
By default this role is for a developer who can join our studio in Bristol, UK, and get hands-on with our practical testing, deployments and company activities. However, it isn’t essential for you to come in every day. All studio-based staff have adapted to working from home up to two days a week.
