Our client has an exciting new opportunity for an AI Software Engineer to join their established team to work on a AAA arcade racing title, being built in Unreal 5 for Gen 5 consoles and PC. You will lead collaboration with your colleagues to design and architect AI features and systems from the ground up. As an AI Engineer, you will be a key part of the game-play experience team ensuring engaging, challenging and fun experiences for players. You will create and maintain best practices for the engineering team and help troubleshoot development issues.
- Design and architect AI solutions with the team and technical director for our client
- Work closely with the Game Design and Vehicle design teams, reviewing requirements and feature specifications and providing AI-specific solutions and insights
- Deliver high-quality, optimised, clean code for our client
- Set standards by example for our client
- Improve overall code quality, e.g. by code reviews, for our client
- Guide, coach, and mentor associate engineers for our client
- Help improve processes and pipelines for our client
- Work on the overall career paths within our client's company
- Have fun working on amazing projects for our client
Requirements
- 2+ years games industry with experience working on AAA games
- Experienced in developing advanced AI features and systems on at least one published title
- Solid debugging and optimisation skills in C++
- Proactive, with an open mind and ready to bring ideas to the group
- Bonus points: Any Unreal Engine experience!
This role is available in our client's UK or Netherlands offices, alternatively, they accept remote working requests from Spain. Open to relocation discussions.
This role is available in-office (Guildford or Utrecht) or remote working is considered.
