Hereford Galvanizers is a successful independent metal coatings business specializing in the hot-dip galvanizing of steel products. Having been established for over 50 years we have extensive expertise within the galvanizing industry and work with large construction companies to local fabricators and farmers.
We operate two hot dip galvanizing plants, one in Hereford and one in Oswestry, Shropshire and also a powder coating and shot-blasting plant in Oswestry.
Duties Include:
· Receiving material coming into the plant.
· To be able to distinguish between “process materials” and “materials for Galvanizing.
· To inspect materials for suitability in accordance with the pre-process checking procedure.
· Check incoming advice/delivery notes.
· Unload vehicles paying due care to avoid damages and store on yard in a safe and suitable manner. Attach ID labels.
· Bring materials into works when required for processing and unload onto jigs in a safe manner suitable for processing, fully utilising jig capacity. Ensure ID labels are attached.
· Unload jigs after galvanizing, inspect materials ensuring compliance with company QA policy ISO 9001 & Galvanizing standards BS EN ISO 1461.
· Count and stack material in a safe and tidy manner, giving due care to avoid damages. Attach ID label.
· Weigh material prior to storing on yard in a safe and easily accessible manner.
· Load vehicles paying due care to avoid damages. Check quantities against notes.
· To employ methods with regard to his own safety and of others in the immediate vicinity.
Key skills/experience/attributes required:
· Must be happy to work shifts.
· Hours of work: 22.00 – 06.00 Sunday to Thursday.
· Be a quick learner and be able to follow clear direction and a structured health and safety training programme including the use of PPE
· Any experience working within a production process environment would be beneficial but not essential, full training will be provided
· A team worker although able to work alone when required
· An overhead crane and/or forklift license would be beneficial but not essential
· Good time management, attention to detail and hard work ethic
· A good standard of literacy and numeracy
