We have an exciting opportunity for a national Gallery Technician to join our team. This is a physical role involving the safe moving, manual handling, hanging and wrapping of our art in both galleries and clients homes. As our galleries are located across the UK this role also involves considerable travel to different galleries on a rota basis, helping with the hanging and movement of art for deliveries and artist events.

You will be mainly travelling around our Eastern and Southern Galleries and we will provide you with a van to use for work purposes.

Role Requirements:

  • Driving across the east and south west areas of the country to many of our galleries to assist the gallery staff
  • Moving art work on a daily basis which will include a number of pieces at different sizes and weights
  • Managing stock control and reporting any issues with your line manager
  • Supporting gallery staff on home visits when needed – moving and hanging considerable sized pieces in clients home
  • Packing and wrapping artwork to a very high standard when touring or moving stock to different locations

Your skills:

  • The role requires that you have a naturally positive and professional attitude and helpful approach as you will be the face of our company
  • A full UK Driving licence – experience with driving a van is a luxury but not a necessity
  • Confidence and experience driving across the country
  • Able to work Monday – Friday with the additional weekend and evening cover for events and home approval support
  • Comfortable with using ladders to hang art work (training will be provided)
  • Experience with dealing with stock take and scanning systems
