Gallery Assistant
Adamo Gallery is an independent contemporary art gallery based in Cardiff city centre.
Our Cardiff gallery showcases a selection of the top UK based artists as well as supporting local Welsh talent. A diverse portfolio of original and limited-edition artwork, it is our mission to help our clients find the perfect piece of artwork for them.
As a Gallery Assistant you will play a direct role in promoting the beauty of artwork and helping our clients fall in love with the amazing work we exhibit. Part of a small team, your input will be essential to the development and running of the gallery. A rewarding and satisying role, this position has potential for you to train as an Art Consultant.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a customer service/retail role.
- Enjoy working independently under instructions, but happy to use initative.
- To work to a high standard.
- Weekend and weekday availability (3 day position)
Responsibilities:
- Gallery curation and preparation which includes but is not limited to hanging artwork, wrapping and pacakging artwork, general housekeeping and ensuring presentation standards are kept high.
- Works under instruction of Gallery Director to a time schedule.
- Happy to carry out housekeeping duties.
- Administrative tasks such as arranging artwork deliveries, preparing for events and responding to emails.
- Represent Adamo Gallery ethics and philosophies.
- Engaging with and speaking to clients.
Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 18 per week
Salary: £10.42 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cardiff: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Work Location: In person
