The G20 manager (reporting to the Project Lead) is responsible for the day –to- day running of the G20 youth project and the effective running of the G20 building. G20 manager will be responsible for taking forward the G20 vision within the youth club, and for maintaining and developing connections with other community groups, individuals and organisations. This is a key role in the G20.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the Youth House.
- Deliver training, induction and encourage the voice of the young people and their progression to positive pathways
- Maintain required records including child protection, case studies, health and safety and employment documents.
- To manage a range of youth community programmes delivered by the G20
- Line manage staff, including young people.
- Support the long term development of an alternative school day programme for young people, working in partnership with local schools
- Plan and budget for future programmes within the youth project
- Work with Admin and Project Lead to apply for funding
- Manage a holistic programme for families
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with partner organisations.
- Maintain employee and young peoples records and complete paperwork to comply with laws and regulations.
- The G20 manager will be responsible for the training and well-being programme for staff

- PVG for working with
young people will be
required
- Qualified to degree level in a relevant area or significant relevant experience
- At least two years’ experience in the third sector of managing staff and project development/ outcomes, including provision of supervision and support to staff
- knowledge of safeguarding children and young people
- At least 2 years’ experience of youth work, particularly with those who are vulnerable and/or difficult to reach
- understanding of complex needs and barriers affecting young people
- knowledge of trauma informed practice, adverse childhood experience knowledge
- Experience of managing a budget
- Experience of monitoring and evaluating services, and their impact on participants through a variety of methods and an understanding of evaluation concepts.
- Experience of preparing reports for Trustees and Funders
- Experience of developing partnerships within a wide range of organisations and service providers
- Experience of producing funding applications
- Awareness of the needs and responsibilities of Data Protection, Equalities and Child Protection/Vulnerable Adults legislation
- Excellent understanding of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Planning and organization skills, including ability to prioritize, review and work under pressure to specific timescales and targets
- Ability to handle difficult situations appropriately and sensitively, using correct methods.
- Excellent written verbal and inter-personal communication skills, and ability to adapt communication methods to suit differing groups
- Ability to develop creative resources and group work projects including planning resources to work with identified and varied needs of young people
- Excellent time management skills including the ability to keep track of several projects at once, prioritise tasks and see tasks through to a timely completion
- A non-judgmental outlook with the ability to handle difficult situations with sensitivity

- Proficient in ICT (MS Office, internet, email, databases, marketing via social media
- Qualification in Youth or Community Work
- Clean full driver’s license
- Food hygiene certificate
- First aid
- Knowledge of Scottish Government policies in relation to young people and communities
- Experience in training
- Experience of designing marketing materials and using different marketing channels to reach new audiences/increase breadth of referrals
- Knowledge of CLD practice and competencies
- Awareness of the needs and responsibilities of the Data Protection, Equalities and Child Protection/Vulnerable Adults legislation
- Experience of supporting volunteers
- Knowledge of organisations and services supporting increased employment opportunities for young people
- Experience of mentoring young people
