The future projects office plays a key role in Airbus’ ambition to pioneer safe and sustainable aerospace. Our activities range from maintaining the competitiveness of our existing products through to identifying and developing future Airbus products capable of meeting the sustainability challenge, and securing Airbus’ future. We are a fully transnational team which connects different engineering centres and Airbus functions.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM

  • You will be responsible for performing technical studies on conceptual aircraft designs, configuration development and aircraft integration within the Future Projects Office.

  • You will also help to define overall aircraft targets for all disciplines meeting the project requirements in collaboration with various customers (Programmes, Product Strategy, Marketing, R&T etc).

  • Incremental and derivative aircraft (“Neos”, shrink/stretch options), where you work on convergence of the aircraft objectives and definition

  • New and Disruptive projects (such as flying wing, new energies), where you explore broader design space, integrating both high and low maturity technologies from Research & Technology and finding gaps where new technologies might be needed

  • Competition studies to inform & challenge Airbus’ strategy as next steps are defined

  • Capability and process improvements aligned to all of our activities

ABOUT YOU

  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in Aerospace or a related discipline.

  • You will have gained experience from within the Aerospace industry or a comparable industry, such as aerospace

  • Knowledge of overall aircraft design, aircraft layout and integration

  • Knowledge of performance (high speed and low speed), aerodynamics, structures, systems, manufacturing, big data and data analytics, method development/coding will be useful

  • Familiarity with MBSE techniques and tools as strongly desirable
