Working hours: 40 hours per week – 8am-4.30pm Mon-Fri, and alternate Saturdays

The Salvation Army’s Harvestfield Furniture Project in Berwick upon Tweed is a large charity furniture recycling project that sells almost everything from clothes and bric-a-brac to large furniture and white goods. With the expansion of the work of the furniture project, into the community, this position of Team Leader is key in providing support to the management team in attaining both missional and operational objectives, looking at effective ways of providing support and assistance to those in need, in addition to serving customers and overseeing the day-to-day operations in the shop.

Key Responsibilities: In this role you will be required to assist and support the management team in running a dynamic furniture project, towards operational and missional objectives. You will also be responsible for the dayto-day management of the till area, serving customers, and leading the team of employees and volunteers.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to prioritise, organise and manage your own workload to meet objectives
  • Excellent communication skills – Written and Verbal
  • Experience in a retail setting
  • Good organisational skills
