Job description
The post holder will work closely with and be supported by the Safeguarding Leadership team and other members of the Trust's Safeguarding Team to ensure that the Trust meets its statutory responsibilities in regard to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults as defined in Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018) The Children's Act (1989 & 2004) and The Care Act (2014).
The post holder will act as a point of contact for children, young people, families, adults and their carers, health professionals and partner agencies that have safeguarding/child and adult protection concerns; using the 'think family' approach, advising partner agencies on health matters with regard to safeguarding children and adults both in the hospital and community setting. This will be with the support and under the supervision of the specialist lead nurse/professional.
The safeguarding team currently includes the following specialities; Adults, Children, Maternity and Learning Disability and/or Autism so the post holder will the opportunity to work in these areas within the safeguarding team as workload dictates. The post holder will be supported in this work.
