Primary Job Purpose
This role is a unique opportunity for an innovative, creative and highly skilled individual to lead the marketing activities and promotion of Berkshire Maestros across the county and nationally. The post-holder will cover the whole spectrum of marketing and fundraising duties and needs to think strategically as well as work operationally as this is a hands-on role. They must be confident in representing the Organisation externally and co-ordinate and maintain strong working relationships. To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate relevant fundraising as well as marketing experience.
Principal Responsibilities
1. Build a strategic marketing plan for the development of musical activities and events across Berkshire Maestros, including clear opportunities for diversification and expansion.
2. Drive and co-ordinate marketing communications campaigns and activities that generate income, owning their implementation from idea to execution.
3. Maintain effective external communications to ensure that all relevant stakeholders are kept informed of the charity’s objectives.
4. Ensure all Maestros staff are well resourced with key marketing information and materials.
5. Oversee our online and print marketing ensuring to create a wide range of high quality promotional materials.
6. Produce engaging content for our website that attracts and converts our target groups.
7. Support the development and implementation of regular individual giving and community fundraising to maximise unrestricted income including legacy and individual giving.
8. To work with relevant staff and other relevant external and partner organisations to maximise all opportunities for fundraising and marketing activities.
9. To set and achieve income targets across all fundraising disciplines, in particular, developing strategies to maximise unrestricted income.
10. Write and submit high-quality applications to charitable funders.
11. To lead the development of new fundraising initiatives as appropriate.
12. Ensure all fundraising initiatives are planned, delivered, monitored and evaluated effectively, including the development of business cases for material investment and timely, business-critical key performance indicators.
13. To ensure that the grant conditions of existing funders are met.
14. To develop, review and manage an ongoing programme of activity to secure, maintain and develop new and existing corporate support: including gift aid, Just Giving, Donr, Easy Fundraising and Amazon Smile.
15. Ensure effective working relations, integration and collaboration between the Marketing and other departments across the organisation.
16. Ensure effective departmental financial management through monitoring of departmental budget spend and reporting on variances as required.
17. You have a duty to take care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions at work. You must co-operate with employers and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements.
18. Promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils and service users within the Berkshire Maestros, raising any concerns in accordance with Maestros protocols and procedures.
19. Any other duties commensurate with the post that may be assigned by the CEO.
Other considerations
1. Due to the nature of the post, the holder is expected to work flexible hours in order to attend certain Company events, including some evening and weekends with prior notice/agreement.
2. An enhanced DBS clearance is required, as the work involves working closely with children and schools.
3. Other appropriate checks and safeguards may also be required.
4. The role will require a highly flexible, motivated and innovative approach.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
· A strong academic record, ideally to degree level or equivalent, in subjects demanding strong written English
· A Fundraising Diploma or professional qualification is advantageous but will not outweigh experience
Experience
· Demonstrable experience in Fundraising
· Experience of effectively managing a Fundraising function
· Evidenced track record of successfully meeting and exceeding targets
· Evidence of developing successful fundraising applications to trusts, foundations, statutory bodies, bilateral or other institutional grant funders
· Demonstrable networking experience to build ongoing relationships
· Experience of developing strong partnerships, particularly with Corporates, Trusts & Foundations, and Major Donors
· Experience of CRM implementation or system transfer, ideally within the Salesforce environment
· Experience of CAF online donation portal to set up and report on campaigns
Knowledge and Skills
· Outstanding communication skills, including experience of communicating effectively across varied audiences, both verbally and in writing
· Able to build strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders
· Excellent organisational, planning and project management skills
· Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organisation
· Strong financial management and budgeting skills
· Ability to present and interpret complex information
· Knowledge and understanding of statutory, trust and institutional fundraising, including research sources and funding criteria
· Through knowledge of the Fundraising Regulator guidelines
· Effective use of a fundraising CRM database e.g. ability to pull and analyse donation reports
· Outstanding research skills, including identifying and monitoring potential funders
