Job summary
Working as a Funding Officer within the England Central Funding team, you will join our Awards for All programme.
Job description
You may be assessing applications for funding from a wide range of customers, dealing with grant management and related queries and looking at risk management of grant applications. Liaising directly with grant holders and applicant organisations and engaging with a range of colleagues. You will have a strong understanding of our vision and our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. You will manage your own caseload and identify and manage risk.
The England Awards for All Team have a Funding Officer vacancy (fixed term until 30 September 23). The successful candidates must be based near to and be able to easily travel to one of our centres in Birmingham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne, as this role may require office working.
Hours: Full time role, however part time hours will be considered.
Interview Date: Week Commencing 13th March
Location: Working from our Birmingham or Newcastle-Upon-Tyne office on a hybrid basis.

Essential criteria:
- Ability to manage a large workload in a clear, analytical manner that allows you to make good judgements, challenge when appropriate and manage risk.
- Strong listening, written and verbal communication. Experienced and able to produce written communication to a high standard and to a tight deadline.
- Demonstrable IT skills and the ability to learn detailed processes quickly and accurately
- Good planning, organisation and time management skills, managing your time and workload to meet targets and handle competing priorities.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships, working within a big team; with a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
- Be confident in continually seeking and acting on feedback to evaluate and improve your own performance
Desirable criteria:
- Understand the communities we work with and how we make a difference through our funding.
- The ability to understand and assess data and financial information, and present this in a way that it can be accessible for others.
