Overview of the Department/Team
The Fund Finance Team is responsible for the financial management and reporting activities of funds and segregated mandates managed or advised by Nuveen Real Estate (NRE) in Europe. Close working relationships is required with other team members in London and our other European offices, as well as with service providers across Europe. Fund Finance team focuses on providing accounting, investor reporting, tax and debt compliance reports for Fund entities.
As an intern you will be expected to;
- Put into practice basic accounting and financial knowledge, understand the basic financial statements i.e. Trail balance, Profit and loss, Balance sheet.
- Exposure to the audit process, liaising with auditors and other 3rd party service providers.
- Learning various IT and systems skills within Fund finance and the wider team.
- Opportunity to be involved in the liquidation process of a Fund, understanding Fund life cycles.

- An option to secure a permanent role after graduation
What skills & competencies we require:
- On track to attain a 2:1 undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Studying Finance & Accounting, Economics or similar
- A demonstrated interest in investment management, preferably within Real Estate
- Examples of professional & personal commitment to excellence
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Team player
- A strategic thinker with potential to analytically comprehend investment, as well as an entrepreneurial mind-set
- Strong competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
- Financial modelling is desirable
