Job description
Full time Nanny/Housekeeper role in Ropley, SO24
This family are looking for a Nanny/Housekeeper to join them long term. They have 3 children; two boys aged 6 and 10 years and a girl aged 8 years. They are looking for someone who is loving, energetic and proactive, with a firm but fair approach. A Nanny/Housekeeper who is a real self-starter, who uses their own initiative as to what needs doing and is happy to muck in where needed. Both parents work from home and are hands on with the children. This is a permanent, shared care role with an opportunity to join and support a lovely, busy family.
The role is 40 hours per week throughout the year. During the term time, the hours are 11am to 7pm. This will usually be Monday to Friday however, some Saturdays are required in lieu of a weekday. This is to help with travel for the boys to school and matches. They can be flexible with the chosen weekday taken off.
During the term time duties will include full housekeeping such as changing the beds, family laundry/ironing, running errands, coordinating other tradespeople and some cleaning. Someone who likes animals and could help with walking and feeding the dog, would be a good match. In the term time, once their daughter comes home from school in the afternoon, she will need help with homework. The boys will return later, so the nanny will need to prepare dinner and assist with the bedtime routine for all three children.
During the school holidays, the role will only be Monday to Friday 11am to 7pm. Duties to include driving the children to clubs and playdates, as well as planning age appropriate activities, games and exciting days out. With a pool and tennis courts at the house, there are lots of fun things to do at home.
The family will be moving to their Hampshire home before the role starts in summer. There could be the option to live in if required. There are two accommodation options. If just staying the night there is a nanny room and bathroom available. If looking for a more permanent live in home, there is a separate cottage that is self-contained; upstairs there is a bedroom and bathroom, and downstairs a large sitting room and lovely fully fitted kitchen, which is shared with the pool during summer months.
The family are looking for a confident cook, who is happy organising groceries and preparing meals/cooking. The family would like someone that is able to offer the flexibility of ad hoc babysitting. Experience with mild ADHD and dyslexia would be advantageous.
