Leeds and Moortown Furniture Store Ltd is a registered Charity that provides free second-hand items of furniture to families and individuals across the Leeds area who are struggling with Furniture Poverty. LMFS Trading Limited is the Social Enterprise arm of the Charity that sells White Goods, New Furniture, and Household items to support the main work of the Charity
Roles & Responsibilities
- Responsible for loading and driving a Luton Van in a safe and responsible manner
- Collecting and delivering items of Furniture and White Goods for the Charity and Trading Company
- Supervision of Volunteers who assist in the Warehouse and on the Van making collections and deliveries
- Responsible for carrying out safety checks on your vehicle on a daily basis and reporting any problems to the Warehouse Manager
- Maintaining excellent Customer Service to all clients, donors and customers of the Charity and Trading Company
- Comply with all aspects of GDPR and client confidentiality
- The ability to lift and move large items of furniture - comply with all aspects of Safe Handling and Moving
- Undertake agreed on and off-site training relevant to your duties and responsibilities and career progression
- Comply with all aspects of the Furniture Store's Health and Safety and Fire Safety Policies
- Carry out any other reasonable work consistent with the job or relevant to the services provided by the Furniture Store
As a Driver/Warehouse Person you are an integral part of the team ensuring that Leeds and Moortown delivers and collects Furniture and White Goods in a timely manner.
Working alongside other drivers and a team of volunteers, you will ensure that items of Furniture are loaded and secured on the van ready for delivery. Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager, you will comply with all Health & Safety legislation required to carry out your tasks using Safe Handling and Moving techniques.
As a representative of the Charity you must have excellent communication skills and ensure that clients, customers, and donors, receive a high standard of Customer Service.
The ideal candidate must be flexible in their approach to work as their tasks will be varied across both the Charity and Trading company.
