Job description

To work and assist Skipper and Passengers on board ferries in and around Poole Harbour. Ensure that our high standards are maintained on a daily basis, ensuring that all of our passengers have the best customer service experience.


Principal Responsibilities


  • To follow company Health & Safety procedures and ensure that the Health & Safety of all our passengers is protected at all times.

  • Work as part of a team.

  • Preparation, cleaning of boats each day.

  • Give safety announcements - commentaries over PA system. Serve refreshments – teas & coffees.

  • To provide information for the passengers in a professional, polite & helpful manner.

  • To ensure that the highest level of customer care is shown at all times to ensure a clean, comfortable and safe environment for all our passengers.

  • Man gangways & accurately count & record passengers boarding the vessel.

  • To check all tickets to ensure passengers have a valid ticket to travel to / from their destination.

  • To welcome all passengers on board the vessel and anticipate their needs.

  • To ensure that the bar area and vessel is kept clean at all times.

  • To ensure the bar remains fully stocked at all times replenishing accordingly.

  • Follow the Skippers orders in performing crew duties in emergencies and in maintaining the safety of the vessel.

  • Secure boats to Quayside & Gangways using ropes.

  • Evening work available

  • Relevant training courses can be undertaken, the company will provide where necessary.


Personal Profile

Education Level/Qualifications


  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent


Experience/Knowledge


  • Customer facing role

  • Retail background

  • Worked in a sales environment

  • Knowledge of the Travel & Tourism industry

Previous experience on board boats or working with boats would be a great advantage, however full training would be given in all aspects of working on board boats, to the right applicant
