Job description
Who are We?
Founded in 2014 and based in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, Forrit helps organisations when they need to do more with less; our future-proof CMS provides them with operational efficiency – and cost savings too. We help them reduce third-party software costs and create fast pay-back on their investment.
Our customers are based in some of the most highly regulated industries, so with a host of security and audit features built-in, our cloud-native CMS helps them reduce risk and comply with regulations. Customisable approval processes, clear audit trails and optional roll-back keep them in control and as we’re a Microsoft Partner they can be confident of getting a secure, scalable, and reliable solution. What’s more, working with us lets you leverage your organisation’s committed cloud spend with Microsoft.
Tell me more about the Role?
As full-stack developer you will work closely with a small team of developers on a variety of client projects including CMS migrations, custom application builds and website launches. Additionally, you will work in collaboration with a project manager to gather client requirements and help to design technical solutions.
As an experienced web development professional, you will mentor and support junior members of the development team, helping them to build upon their skills and drive their development. You will be working with the latest versions .NET, React, Angular and will work with a variety of Azure services.
As a business whose products are built on Microsoft technology, Microsoft accreditation is encouraged and fully funded by the company, with learning paths available focussing on .NET development, Azure, AI and data.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Facilitate and encourage self-organization and ownership from the development team.
- Help to protect the development team from external and internal distractions.
- Removing blockages stopping the team from delivering on time.
- Hands on approach that still gets involved in the day-to-day delivery issues.
- Maintain and add functionality to existing sites, in particular handle requests for new functionality.
- Management of scheduled product releases.
- Work in conjunction with the Forrit product team to ensure client requirements are feed back into roadmap.
- Work with the client product owner to define achievable sprints and agree priorities.
- Ensure tickets are sufficiently detailed to allow implementation by the development team.
- Some travel may be required during large campaigns.
What do I need to Bring?
You need to have led a team previously, showcasing how you build and develop members of the team and demonstrating your ability to lead from the front. With advanced skills in both front-end technologies including React and Angular, and Microsoft .NET technologies you should be very comfortable working in an Agile environment, using Scrum methodologies. You will review code and provide constructive feedback to the other members of the team so they can grow and learn; obviously, this calls for brilliant communication skills, remembering that people learn in different ways.
