Full-Stack Software Team Manager
Location: Lisburn, Northern Ireland

WHAT TO EXPECT DAY TO DAY
We are looking for a talented Software Team Manager to join our dynamic and innovative team, working on exciting projects and developing software applications for IoT devices monitoring the electrical grid.
As the Team Manager, you will manage a team of JavaScript/Linux application software developers. You will work with Project Management and Product Owners to plan resources, direct the team's Agile software development activities, and facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration.
Under the guidance of the Software Engineering Manager and in collaboration with other technical leaders, you will instil a high-performant software development culture by implementing modern software development best practices, promoting technology standardisation and innovation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
You will play a vital role in maintaining a skilled and motivated team of software engineers, developing retention strategies to keep our top talent engaged and committed to our mission. You will also lead recruitment efforts for the team and identify the necessary training and resources for engineers to succeed in their roles.
As the Team Manager, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and tools, influence the direction of software products, and scale a team of high-performing software engineers under your leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Line Management: Resource planning, performance management and people management.
- Talent Management: Retention, recruitment, and training.
- Technical Leadership: Providing technical guidance and driving technical innovation and standardisation.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and decision making.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- At least 2 years’ experience leading software engineering teams.
- Strong leadership, people management and communications skills.
- Experience developing on Linux environments.
- Broad knowledge of software development for IoT devices.
- Broad knowledge of modern web development.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Experience in a dynamic high-growth environment.
- Experience in the product development life cycle of engineering products.
- Understanding of Security and privacy compliance (GDPR, ISO 27001).
