Role: Full-Stack Developer
Hours: Full-time (4-day working weeks, Mon-Thurs)
Salary: £42k-£56k pa
Location: Remote position, with 1-2 meetings in Bristol/London each month
Reports to: Snr Full-Stack Engineer / Snr AI Engineer
Start date: February - April 2023

What is Good Boost?
Good Boost is a multi-award winning social enterprise that delivers digital therapeutic exercise programs for people living with musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions like arthritis and back pain. We offer a land-exercise app (on users personal phone at home) and an aquatic-exercise app that we deliver in partnership with local leisure centres throughout the UK. As a team of clinicians, researchers and engineers we develop artificial intelligence powered technology to enable personalised rehab-exercises be delivered as individual and group sessions.

Role summary
We’re looking for someone who’s excited about breaking new ground in community
healthcare technology and pioneering something completely new. Your role will include the development accountability of Good Boost technology and supporting the technical team in setting the vision and strategy for our technology and AI. Your role will include the senior lead in the design and development of our technology working with an inter-disciplinary team. You will focus on the back-end and AI development while having an awareness and understanding of our front-end systems and an appreciation for the overall technology stack. You should be highly experienced in software development, fluent multiple development languages, exercise in developing AI systems, developed and deployed technology in large corporations, team management and an enthusiasm for the role of digital technology.
Role purpose
To lead the design, development, testing, deployment of our back-end and AI system to create world-leading clinical technology. To be a member of the team developing pioneering digital aquatic exercise hardware. To ensure that Good Boost has a world-class product and services that is effective, realisable with human-centereddesign around our users and stakeholders. Ultimately, to deliver Good Boost’s mission of creating the systems and tools to improve musculoskeletal health for communities everywhere.
Main Responsibilities
•Work within the technology development team to optimise and improve Good Boost’s clinical technology to deliver our clinical system for AI-Physiotherapy rehabilitation exercise
•Plan, write, maintain, test and document code for Good Boost applications and platforms. Code will adhere to internal coding standards.
•Lead with a solutions focus to develop new back-end and AI systems with the inter-disciplinary clinical-technical team
•Function as an integral part of the development team, actively contributing towards the development of our tools, services and platforms.
•Learn from participants and users and people living with an MSK condition how we can improve our offering from a technological perspective (human-centereddesign)
•Work closely with the wider Good Boost team including Operations and Clinical teams to ensure effective development and delivery of our service
Knowledge/ Qualifications
•Minimum 2.5 years post-graduate experience in a technical role with an understanding of software development or minimum 5 years experience is no university degree.
•JavaScript, nodejs, react(react native) and CSS
•Any knowledge with machine learning is desirable
•Ability to write clean code, following the best procedures and standards.
•Ability to determine technical operational feasibility by evaluating analysis of software/hardware function
•Ability to document technical solutions through the use of documentation such as flowcharts, diagrams or code comments
•Ability to develop software/technical solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle
•Evidence of fast prototyping experience would be beneficial
•Experience of computer-vision is desirable, but not required.
Skills and personal qualities
•Self-motivated, proactive and able to prioritise workload
•Able to communicate effectively with the team
•Experience of inputting data into and analysing complex databases
•Competent in standard office software, e.g. MS Office
•Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly
•Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
•Detail-oriented
