- Experience writing tests and using testing frameworks, such as Cypress and PHPUnit.

We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer with expertise in Vue.js and PHP/Symfony to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying and maintaining web applications. You will work closely with a team of developers, designers and product managers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Improving the existing codebase as well as testing, reviewing and debugging code will also form part of your responsibilities.
Ultimately, your work will have a direct impact on the user experience of our platforms and contribute to world-changing scientific projects.

About you
You should be well-versed in developing web applications using PHP and JavaScript frameworks. We would look particularly favourably upon a strong portfolio of excellent, thoughtful, professional work that serves a specific target audience well.
We're looking for someone who can show us at least some of these attributes:
- Ability to write robust code in PHP (we use Symfony);
- Working experience with frontend frameworks (we use Vue.js);
- Excellent understanding of web development concepts such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs;
- Experience working with MySQL or other relational databases;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Familiarity with scrum and agile methodologies;
- Familiarity with GitHub, Github actions and Git; and
- Great communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with any of the following is not required, but would be a nice-to-have:
- Experience with other web development frameworks such as Laravel or Node.js;
- Familiarity with other frontend technologies, such as React;
- Knowledge of GCP and cloud infrastructure management; and
- Experience with DevOps practices such as continuous integration and deployment.

Be comfortable with taking on a mix of responsibilities in the context of a small, dynamic company;
Have good English oral and written communication skills; and
Be motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive.
Our offer
This is a full time role (35 hours per week), based in the UK with flexibility regarding remote and/or home working. We have an office in London and access to co-working spaces in Cork and Norwich.
The salary range we’re offering is £35,000 to £50,000 per annum commensurate with experience. All of our salaries are subject to annual increases to reflect cost of living inflation, as well as automatic annual advancement through pay increments to reflect experience gained on the job.
We provide a learning and development budget, as well as keeping Friday afternoons free of meetings, so you can continually update and develop your knowledge and skills.
We also offer 25 days of holiday per year in addition to bank holidays, with extra days granted for long service (1 additional day per full year of service, up to 5 extra total per annum).
