FTTx Delivery Manager Job Description
Virtua UK Limited are currently looking for an experienced and dynamic Delivery Manager to complement our existing FTTx team and support our continued growth.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day build activities on site, interfacing with the project team, field engineers, delivery partners and customer stakeholders as required to ensure each build is delivered compliant, on time, within QHSE standards and to customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- To provide technical knowledge to the project team to ensure the correct planning of the project, making sure that the hardware, materials, and resource are suitable to complete all works to the required standard, ‘right first time’.
- Manage the day to day running of each activity to ensure that delivery is successful within the time and cost constraints.
- Report any out of scope works back to the project manager to ensure that additional works are captured and charged back to the customer.
- The incorporation, promotion, and compliance of all QHSE matters within your projects and the overseeing of documentation, behavior and adherence to legal and client safety requirements.
- Ensure the delivery of necessary Handover Packs and Quality Audits as required.
- To work with the PM to ensure that the necessary resources are available to deliver projects.
- Supervising contractor 1st and 2ndfix installation teams, ensuring that any project-specific quality or technical standards are completely understood.
- Assist Project Manager in key tasks associated to client sites including performance managing contractor resource, reporting and site handover documentation.
- Ensuring splicing, testing, and reporting is carried out to a standard as outlined in the MSA.
- Assess works completed by a 3rd party to allow sign off and verifying at relevant project stages that these standards have been achieved and/or triggering remedial action if needed.
- Ensure that Client H&S requirements are being always adhered to.
- Internal and External stakeholder management.
- Risk management and reporting.
- Production of QHSE Risk Assessments and Method Statements as required.
- Liaising with QHSE department to ensure safe systems of work are implemented.
Key Skills
- Experience in managing and delivering FTTx build projects within Openreach, and telco operators own networks including Civils delivery.
- Experience and qualification within street works, understanding of the New Roads & Street works Act desirable.
- Experience splicing, testing and fault finding on fibre optic networks Experience of managing teams and effectively managing performance.
- Proven Experience completing 1st and 2nd fix customer installations within a FTTx workstream.
- Experience with iOLM equipment, specifically EXFO.
- Understanding and knowledge of GPON, XGPON, XGSPON network designs and splitter ratios.
- Experience with blown fibre systems, blown fibre installation and termination.
- Knowledge of Openreach PIA network desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
- Conversant in Microsoft Office 365 and associated Project Management software toolsets.
- Customer focused and results orientated.
