Job description
Purpose of Role:
Responsible for undertaking reactive & planned maintenance works to HVAC plant & associated equipment at a static site. Ensuring HVAC plant is maintained at all times to current standards & legislation.
This includes servicing and repair of a range of electrical & mechanical plant & equipment.
The successful candidate will be working full time on one site as part of a larger contract & will be required to liaise with contract support functions throughout the business via telephone and electronic tablet device, therefore good communication & computer operation skills are a requirement for this position.
No previous experience in a similar role required as long as the candidate is a fully qualified electrical maintenance engineer / electrician.
Key Tasks - These should describe separate areas of input:
- Complete fault finding, repair & installation of a range of electrical plant & equipment.
- Responsible for diagnosing and rectifying M&E plant faults, ensuring all statutory requirements are maintained.
- Effective servicing, fault diagnosis & repair work of HVAC equipment to current standards.
- Electrical testing & completion of required NICEIC certification.
- Submitting clear, concise & accurate reports of work carried out & time spent on tasks.
- Details for further recommended works submitted with all required information for office personnel to action.
- Submitting accurate timesheets to office on time & completing PDA’s in “real time”.
- Punctual site attendance suitably dressed & equipped to perform job tasks.
- Any other task deemed reasonable by the Service Manager/Service Supervisor.
- Provide “out of hours” call out cover.
- Ideally all candidates should have undertaken a formal electrical apprenticeship and hold all qualifications associated as a qualified electrician.

- Control panels – PPMs and actuators
- Pumps, AHUs, FCUs, filters, belts, pulleys
- City & Guilds Part 1 & 2 / AM1 / AM2 (or equivalent qualifications)
- NVQ Level 3
- City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent (preferred – not essential)
- Service and repair of HVAC equipment
- Electrical installation
- Electrical testing
- Risk Assessment and Method Statement approval and associated Work Permit’s
- M&E Fault-finding
- Small mechanical installation works (pumps, valves, taps, etc…)
- Control panels - BMS (Trend, Honeywell, Siemens, etc...) – controlling temperatures, re-sets on boilers, fault-finding, checking plant is operational

- AHUs - filters, belts, pulleys
- Fan Coil Unit Servicing
