About us:
New Change FX are a data and analytics company focussed on Foreign Exchange. We provide benchmarks for exchange rates and forwards across major currency pairs, precious metals and crypto tokens. We add analytics to provide insight to our clients on their trading performance and are developing proactive tools to support decision making. We are based in Victoria, London.
The Role:
We are seeking to build our internal development and engineering teams as we re-platform our products to leverage the power and scalability of AWS serverless platform services. We are seeking a developer to supplement our team.
This role will develop and support new and existing products, including:
- Front end development using AWS Amplify, React, AWS Cognito, AWS APIGateway
- API development using APIGW, Cognito, Typescript
- Back end services using Typescript, Redis, Timescale, Docker, MySQL and AWS serverless components including Athena, Glue, ECS, Lambda, Step functions, S3, DynamoDB.
As a tightly integrated team, all team members can work flexibly but are required to attend the office 2 – 3 days per week.
Required Skills:
- Advanced Typescript, Node.js and React.
- Constructing, defining, building and consuming REST and WS APIs
- Working with AWS
- Comfortable in a Scrum / DevOps environment using: Jira/Confluence; GitHub
Desirable Skills:
- AWS skills: AWS Amplify; SAM framework; Serverless: Athena, Glue, ECS, Lambda, Step functions, S3, DynamoDB.
- Experience in building engaging front ends – especially data visualisation/graphs
- Building with Terraform
- Jest
- Data and analytics skills: Python inc. pandas; Use of Apache Spark notebooks; NoSQL DBs, especially Redis including LUA scripting
- AWS Sagemaker
- Knowledge of FIX protocol
