Role:
Reporting to the security manager, working within this flagship building and prestigious environment in the City of London, you will support the delivery of a truly exceptional customer journey for both staff and visitors. To achieve this, you will be well versed in the processes and practices of a Concierge and Security professional. Excellence in customer service will be at the heart of the role. You will be part of a well drilled security operation.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to staff and visitors
- Take an active interest in, and give commitment to the client
- Ensure that the environment and service is truly excellent and beyond expectation
- Ensure complete client/tenant/other service provider confidentiality; protecting people and information is paramount
- Appropriate use of CCTV/access control and any other electronic management system, and completion of reports and documentation in a timely fashion, when required
- Be familiar with all Security and Emergency procedures on site and assist in the facilitation of their safe execution and practice. There may also be a need to become a fire marshal and first aider if applicable all training will be provided
- All Assignment Instructions / Operation Manuals or Standard Operating Procedures are to be reviewed, understood, and followed
- Completion of rostered duties and all associated tasks or responsibilities to the highest possible standard
- Ensure that all Health and Safety and Environmental procedures are followed and do not undertake any activity which could breach the SIA or other relevant regulations
- To complete any other reasonable task as instructed by your line manager or other Senior Manager, either UniTrust or at the request of the Client and/or tenants
- To support internal and external audit processes from UniTrust Security representatives, Client/Tenant Representatives, the SIA, any other relevant body with a relevant interest and valid reason for inspection or compliance checks
- To be resilient to working in the most sensitive environments, always dealing with any conflict with a respectful and empathic approach
- Be prepared to manage a wide variety and diversity of scenarios, people and challenges
- Assist in the induction, development, or ongoing training of new team members across the disciplines where appropriate
- Act in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures and our Code of Conduct
CONCIERGE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcome and assist staff, clients, tenants, and visitors to the premises in a warm and courteous fashion maintaining excellence as a standard throughout the customer journey
- Work with all colleagues to ensure the integrity of security on the site
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with all staff, visitors, tenants, service providers and clients
- Have good knowledge of the local area to be able to answer queries regarding local transport links or services in the area for example.
SECURITY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the security of people, premises, and property, protecting the reputation of the client/tenants throughout
- Respond to alarms
- Ensure a safe and secure working environment for all
- Check identity and credentials of staff, contractors and visitors where required
- Record details of any suspected criminal activity on the premises (internal and external); commencing investigative procedures prior to onward reporting where necessary.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent oral, written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and confidence
- Resilient and calm under pressure with the ability to multi-task and prioritise to help solve problems and overcome challenges
- Self-confidence and an interest in self-development.
- Physically able to conduct all responsibilities associated with the roles documented
- Computer literate and confident with the use of Microsoft Office programmes
- Demonstrate an awareness of security threats which remain relevant and up to date in the context of the current environment
- Current and valid SIA license
- First Aid at work or the ability to train and retain this qualification
Desirable Skills:
- Exposure to relevant Protective Security or Counter Terrorism Advice
- Previous experience of the security industry and / or within the hospitality sector or corporate environment desired
- Previous experience in technologies to detect security threats in any given environment desired
