Front of House Assistant Southampton, England
Job description
Mayflower Theatre is the largest independent theatre in the south of the UK and on our stage are a wide range of shows including large scale musicals, opera and dance. We are looking for Front of House Assistants to welcome our customers to our venue and support the Duty Manager in the smooth running of all FOH activities.
In particular you will;
- Offer a friendly, kind, welcome and informative presence to our customers, taking a pro-active approach to customer service and problem solving, displaying empathy and forethought.
- Enforce house and show specific rules, as well as food hygiene, health and safety and licensing regulations.
- Promote sales of ancillary products including drinks behind the bar, merchandise, sweets, programmes, and ice creams and ensuring all transactions and stock are securely handled.
- Assist with functions and events within the Front of House areas, including helping to set up and clear function spaces, serving food/drink as appropriate, and adhering to food safety standards.
- Ensure the health, safety and security of the building, customers, and staff, at all times.
Our ideal applicant will:
- Have a good level of education
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven experience in a customer facing role
- Be an excellent team player
- Be a self-starter and show initiative
Roles will be offered based on an annualised hours contracts of 624 hours per year - an average of 3-4 shifts or 12 hours (average) per week – including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Salary: £10.90 per hour, plus benefits.
A group recruitment session will take place at Mayflower theatre on Monday 5thJune.
