Jellycat have an exciting new opportunity for a talented Front End Designer/Web Developer to join our eCommerce team! We are looking for someone who is as comfortable designing as they are at coding.
Reporting into the Global eCommerce Manager, you will be a key part of the eCommerce team. Focussed on the Jellycat.com global websites, your main responsibilities will range from visual updates to designing and building landing and content pages. You will also propose ideas and develop design strategies that will help drive our business forward and improve the overall user experience in an impactful way.
Your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Creating landing pages to drive traffic to our transactional websites (Big Commerce).
- Aligning with the digital campaign calendar and the trade teams commercial needs and adhering to brand guidelines.
- A/B testing to better optimise the Jellycat website.
- Improving the quality of web pages by auditing against performance, accessibility, SEO and best practices, and proposing and implementing changes.
- Developing features to enhance the user experience.
- Production and maintenance of websites and web application user interfaces.
- Testing sites for usability and fixing any bugs.
- Creating comprehensive, tech-current and user-centred designs (user flows, wireframes, prototypes, interface design etc.) for different digital journeys and products.
- Delivering front-end development and design aligned with roadmap expectations.
Required knowledge and skills:
- At least 3 years' experience working within a similar role in an eCommerce environment.
- A thorough understanding of Javascript/HTML/CSS.
- A strong understanding of CMS platforms (knowledge of BigCommerce beneficial).
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and to required specification.
- Knowledge of SEO and being able to include best practices within design and development.
- A UX mindset, thinking about best UX practices in all of your designs and user journeys.
- Ability to design to a WCAG AA standard.
- An understanding of web analytics (Google Analytics and Data Studio) and tag management (Google Tag Manager).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
