Front Office Assistant JOB DESCRIPTION AND RELATIONSHIPS Pain & Spine Physicians is a prominent Pain Management practice consisting of 6 clinics in North Texas. The Front Office Assistant (FO) is a multi-skilled health professional who works interdependently with other health care professionals to provide quality health care to the patient. The FO is educated and trained to perform both administrative and clinical skills in the medical care environment. He/she is directly responsible to the physician-employer who hires them or any other physician-appointed supervisor in the facility. MINIMUM EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or GED (required) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification a plus Prior Front Office experience a plus Prior clinic or pain management experience a plus JOB DUTIES The Front Office Assistant may perform the following skills in a clinic setting: Front Office Duties Greet patients with best customer service and a smile Ensure demographics up to date Scan in ALL insurance cards and Drivers License front and back and make sure the information on cards is the same as in their charts. Term old cards as new cards are entered and update the patient's chart to reflect correct new information. Ensure NPV and Annual paperwork up to date. Ensure phone answered when no patient at check in Ensure Copay Collected Ensure check in paperwork completed on timely manner to ensure patient flow Collect Copays and Coinsurance due at check in before patients go back. Closing batches for the day Create payment plans and submit to Peregrine Billing Partner. Ensure the lobby, check in counter, window, pens are neat and clean while on your shift If you have a refrigerator or coffee machine in your lobby keeping them stocked throughout the day. Ensure lobby TV is on and playing clinic programming. Check Out Office Duties Schedule patients next appointment Confirm Appointments for next business day Process outgoing referrals & update outgoing referral spreadsheet Monitoring incoming faxes & distribute as appropriate Answer incoming calls Relay patient messages to Physicians Give patients correct information documents on procedures and imaging guidelines Collect Copays, Co-insurance as needed BENEFITS This is a full-time position. No contract or PRN.
