TEAM
The purpose of the FRMS Biomathematical Specialist role is to work within the FRMS team, reporting to the FRMS Analysis & Development Manager, and contribute to the design, development, and integration of custom biomathematical modelling software. The role also involves reviewing and assessing the effectiveness of the software, and reporting on its performance. The FRMS team is part of the Safety, Security & Compliance department.
What you'll be doing
The job responsibilities of the role include developing easyJet's custom biomathematical modelling algorithms, maintaining a specification of the model parameters and coding, ensuring compliance with FRMS guidelines and incorporating research and learning, testing the model output, integrating the model with relevant Crew Management Systems, reviewing and assessing feedback, supporting briefings and model assessments, collaborating with external contractors and service providers, staying knowledgeable in biomathematical modelling techniques and software, assisting in training and promotion efforts, maintaining the development plan and timelines, ensuring compatibility with FRMS procedures, supporting the FRMS department as needed, and ensuring model development is done independently and in compliance with the Fatigue Predictive Software User Protocol.
What you'll bring to the team
The ideal candidate for the FRMS Biomathematical Specialist role should have at least 2 years of experience in a mathematical modelling role and an understanding of the relationship between operational safety and wider business needs. They should be proficient in performing numerical and statistical analysis, have a demonstrated ability to learn and apply new knowledge, and possess exceptional IT skills including expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Python is desirable but not required. The candidate should have a keen interest in human factors research, the ability to work independently, in-depth knowledge of biomathematical modelling, the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, and innovative thinking to develop positive solutions.
