Role: Freight Forwarding Business Development Officer
Salary: Depending on experience
Location: Southampton (on-site)
Responsibilities:
- You will be required to identify, develop, and secure new opportunities focused on sea, air, and road freight.
- Management of an active sales pipeline focussing on international/EU/UK freight.
- To work closely with the local operations management team in the UK/NL.
- Design and implement new ways of selling and promoting services.
- Demonstrating and applying commercial acumen.
- Actively connecting with managers and directors to suggest any contributions to improve procedures.
- Previous experience in freight forwarding is essential for this role.
Key skills, experience and qualifications
- Undergraduate degree.
- Customer focussed mentality; self-motivated and driven.
- Must have proven experience within freight forwarding.
- Confident, professional, and friendly to ensure customer relations are of the highest quality.
- Motivated to achieve targets and interested in helping customers expand & improve their businesses.
- You will be required to generate your own leads.
- Excellent multi-tasking ability.
- Confident communicator and passionate about your work.
- Ability to handle customer grievances and remain calm in pressured circumstances.
