This is a great opportunity for someone looking to up their experience as a Sports Reporter and to be in control of your own workload and diary management. As long as your writing is performing you will have complete creative and editorial control of our Sport sections.
Following the continued success of Total Swindon Sport (mainly coverage STFC and the Wildcats), we are rolling out Total Sport to our other existing TGt Locations in: Dorset, Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Reading and Manchester. You would also be taking over Total Swindon Sport.
We are looking for someone looking for Freelance Sports Reporting with a particular passion for and contacts in Football and Rugby.

You would manage your own diary and work from home but you are welcome to work from any of our Hybrid Head Offices when suits you. We will trust you to do what needs to be done in order to generate strong levels of site traffic and social engagement.
The successful applicant will be an experienced online reporter with an impressive track record of finding and breaking stories of national and local interest.
The role involves writing and building news stories, features and minute-by-minute live blogs.
Requirements include:
- Ability to deliver vibrant, clean copy to tight deadlines • Ability to work self-sufficiently and generate fresh ideas to generate traffic • Ability to generate own news stories and write strong deadlines • Ability to have keen eye for photographs and use the best images and videos to help a story drive traffic • Strong experience of using Social Media platforms for both story ideas and as a way of generating traffic • Ability to use content management systems and image libraries • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key media contacts to generate a steady flow of stories Strong knowledge of Football and Rugby • Newspaper, magazine or news website experience • Must have the ability to gather information and create compelling digital content • Must work productively within a team environment • Must have an understanding of legal covenants and an understanding of copyright • Must have strong communication and people skills • Must be flexible regarding shift patterns (including weekends and nights). Out of hours availability and a high level of adaptability are essential.
