Job description
At Emma Jealouse Costumes, we make garments for Film, TV and Theatre productions around the globe, all from our workshop in the heart of Kingston Upon Thames.
We are looking for a confident and competent person to join our team, who has experience of machining and sewing and a keen eye for detail.
Necessary skills required:
Knowledge of industrial/domestic machines, machine settings and sewing techniques
Previous experience working on garments, alterations or similar.
The ability to complete garments start to finish, following provided pattern.
Competent in following instructions according to the brief.
You must be able to sew a welt pocket and zip fly.
Must be able to wear a thimble whilst hand sewing.
Excellent attention to details.
Good communication skills.
What you can expect from the role:
Work on samples and production
Checking that finished work matches pattern instructions.
Working on a variety of industrial and domestic machinery to create garments.
Constructing garments to a high standard using industry techniques.
Using construction techniques which can be translated into bulk production.
Job benefits:
£11 - £16 per hour, dependant on experience.
8am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday (40hrs) on a freelance basis. Please bare in mind this is a Self Employed role.
Experience required:
At least 5 years experience working within a sewing environment.

Part-time hours: 40 per week
Salary: £11.00-£16.00 per hour
