Job description
About Us:
Founded in 2013, Soly set out with a simple yet powerful mission: to make solar energy accessible for everyone. Over the years, we've expanded rapidly, installing up 30,000 rooftops with solar systems. We make it possible for you to produce, store and drive solar energy that enables you to cut loose from the fossil world. Our footprint spans The Netherlands, South Africa, Belgium, and Germany, and we’re only just getting started. We're dedicated to providing a seamless customer experience with solar solutions for both homes and businesses. As a result, Soly has emerged as one of Europe's leading solar companies, proudly supported and backed by venture capital companies Shell Ventures and pension fund ABP. As part of our ongoing expansion, this year we will begin operations in the UK.
We are currently offering a one-of-a-kind opportunity for an ambitious, multi-talented individual who is eager to dive into the inner workings of a dynamic startup. We are in search of the ideal candidate; a future entrepreneur or executive, ready to roll up their sleeves, work diligently, and take on a diverse range of responsibilities. In this role, you will work directly alongside the UK leadership team, with a simple yet powerful goal: to contribute to the growth and development of the business. Your journey with us will involve engaging in various projects, requiring adaptability across different functions, where no task is too big or too small.
Job Overview:
As a Founder’s Associate and Project Manager, you will be an integral part of our core team, actively shaping and driving the company's vision, mission, and growth strategy. This role holds significant weight in the early stages of our UK expansion, where the team is small, and every team member's contributions directly impact the company's path to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Country Manager and Department Heads to support the development and execution of the UK growth strategy.
- Seamlessly transition into roles across Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance.

- Support with research and data compilation for various projects and initiatives.
- Prepare briefings on current developments and conditions within the solar energy market.
- Create presentations and PowerPoint slides that convey strategic insights and information; incorporating data, visuals, and content to effectively communicate key messages to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Embrace the ethos that no task is too small or too large, demonstrating a "leave it with me" attitude.
- Act as a Soly ambassador, constantly demonstrating our company values and ethics.
Qualifications:
- Recent graduate from a top university with a degree in finance, economics, or a related business field.
- Previous exposure to a challenging environment such as IB or Management Consultancy.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a hunger for growth and a passion for startups.
- Exceptional adaptability and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and take initiative.
- Genuine interest in sustainable products and technological innovations.
What We Offer:
- The chance to play a pivotal role in a unique and dynamic startup.
- Gain visibility into our company's inner workings, providing an exceptional learning experience.
- A path for career progression into roles across Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance.
- Competitive compensation, 25 days of holiday and a culture of innovation and growth.
- The opportunity to give back and be paid for community volunteering work.
- The option to rent or buy solar panels at a discounted price for your own home.
Good to know:
During our selection process, we only look at the qualities of the candidates. You therefore do not have to add your age, gender, origin or a photo of yourself to your CV. In doing so, we follow our Hiring Code of Conduct.
We are a B Corp: Business as a force for good.
Thousands of households and companies switch to solar energy with us every year. This not only means our sustainable impact is large, but we also have a chain that has a major impact on the earth and countless (direct or indirect) stakeholders. As B Corp, we do everything we can to ensure that this impact is positive for our customers, employees, factory workers, the environment and everything else we have an impact on.
Being a B Corp is hard work, but it ensures that we are always critical of ourselves and bring out the best in Solyl. We set high standards for ourselves, as you can read in our Climate Action Report. But it is precisely those challenges that give us energy.
