NHS Tayside has been at the forefront of the development of the General Practice Pharmacy role
since 1997.The service has evolved over the years to become well established, person centred and maximises the skills of the professional pharmacy teams. The NHS Tayside General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Service is progressing well towards meeting the aspirations of Achieving Excellence in Pharmaceutical Care and the pharmacotherapy services outlined in the 2018 General Medical Services contract.

The development of the team of General Practice pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in NHS Tayside recognises the valuable contribution that each profession brings to the delivery of high quality patient care.
We are a friendly and sociable, forward thinking team with excellent peer support networks across Tayside and Scotland, including prescribing support and medicines information networks and excellent links with pharmacists working within specialist clinical pharmacy areas. Team members are encouraged to develop their clinical skills.
We haves roles based in Angus HSCP, Dundee HSCP and Perth & Kinross HSCP all of which involve working primarily in GP practices but also care homes and patients own homes and with the opportunity to gain experience of delivering services in a variety of other settings that may include some inpatient areas such as Medicine for the Elderly and Psychiatry. The emphasis is on high quality, patient facing, pharmaceutical care. You will be supported to complete the NES Post-Registration Foundation Training programme in Primary Care in preparation for the transition to band 7.

Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week over 5 days. Part time applicants will be considered.
