Do you have a background in animal fostering, and would love the opportunity to help shape the fostering experience at the RSPCA? Are you solutions-focussed, and able to see the big picture? We have a truly exciting brand new opening at the RSPCA for a Fostering Manager to join us to help shape the future of fostering, and create new and better ways of making our animals journeys the best they can be.
The position will be home-working but will have the opportunity to visit our Hospitals, Animal Centres and other charities locations in the UK to collaborate and work closely with stakeholders to create better practices and implement them. The working hours will be 35 hours per week, this will be flexible within office hours.

Whats involved?
- Working towards the ambitions set out in the RSPCA's strategy, focussing on improving the overall fostering experience by supporting the development of an effective end to end journey covering all aspects that impact the fosterer and the animal.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to business owners whilst ensuring the fostering programme aligns with Society policy, particularly with regards to training, volunteering policy, health and safety, animal behaviour, veterinary and welfare needs.
- Provide support and guidance in managing and resolving complex fosterer relations issues.
- Nurture collaborative relationships with other animal welfare charities and bodies such as the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes to improve efficiencies, promote alignment of approach and expand available resources.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting, creating innovative solutions to implement long lasting improvements.
About you
- Previous experience and understanding of fostering best practice and trends, animal welfare and behaviours and volunteer management essential
- Well organised, and ability to prioritise workload
- Self motivated and able to work on own initiative
- Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to influence at all levels
- Naturally inquisitive, and always seeking better ways of doing things
- Ability to influence, motivate others in order to reach organisational goals whilst recognising the value of sharing ideas, knowledge and information with others
