Catalent requires a Formulation Development Scientist 1 to join our Swindon manufacturing facility.

As the successful candidate, you will assist in the development of new Zydis® products including early phase proof of concept studies, feasibility, formulation optimisation and supply of samples for early phase clinical trials .

The Role

• Design, prepare for and execute small scale feasibility and formulation laboratory studies
• Perform in-process and finished product testing as required
• Compile data for review, draw conclusions and make recommendations
• Present data to internal project teams and our customers
• Write, review and data check batch manufacturing records and technical reports
• Assist in the manufacture of product for GMP clinical trials and stability studies
• Comply with health and safety requirements adhering to COSHH and risk assessments
• Propose and assist in initiatives to improve the efficiency and overall quality of development processes
• Contribute to equipment upkeep, generating and updating standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with good laboratory practice (GLP)
• Be aware of the resources required to conduct your assigned tasks e.g. equipment and materials and ensure they are ordered and available in a timely manner
• Conduct and prioritise assigned activities with minimal supervision to meet assigned project milestones
• Provide support across the wider team to ensure project milestones are achieved
• Ensure all duties are carried out with the highest ethical, quality and professional standards and that all work is accomplished in accordance with Catalent’s core values

The Candidate

• Degree in Pharmaceutical sciences (advantageous) or Similar scientific degree OR equivalent experience
• Knowledge of GMP/GLP
• Enthusiasm and passion in everything you do
• Excellent communication skills
• Good standard of English both written and verbal
