The Role – General Plant Assistant with FLT License
AM Services Group are looking for an experienced, hardworking, and enthusiastic General Assistant to Support the Main logistical operations on site using an FLT, by maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping on the plant areas. Maintaining supply of additives and other consumables as directed by the plant operators. Ensure packaging is cleared from plant areas and put to correct disposal route for re-cycling or general waste.
This is a Permanent Full-time role 37.5hr per week, the suitable person would work 07:00 - 15:00 Monday to Friday with flexible working (weekday & weekend overtime is available at enhanced rate)
Duties/Key Responsibilities
- Keep all plant access routes and walkways clean and free from debris
- Clear lump waste from the extruder area and put in skip for disposal
- Get additives and consumables as directed to plant area
- Clear all packaging; plastic cardboard and put to correct disposal route
- Assist with other duties as directed by plant operations
- Assist tanker driver with cleaning duties of bud, tanks and pit areas.
- Assist warehouse operations when required.
- When required carry out stand by duties.
- Keep the floors clean, tidy & safe at all times.
- Adherence to work schedule and attendance policy
- Carry out any reasonable task requested by the client or Manager, if you are trained to do so.
- You will take an ‘everyone matters approach’ to Health and Safety one site, using your knowledge, skills and resources to ensure risks are controlled in compliance with company Health and Safety processes and procedures and best practices.
- Be the face of the company applying the company Visions and Values to your work at all times, behaving in a professional manner at all times.
- Maintain equipment, materials and uniform.
- Complete general overall in-house training
Skills Required
- Accredited Forklift Operating licence from an industry recognised body such as RTITB
- Experience of working in a warehouse or on a construction site operating forklifts or other industrial machinery
- Commitment to Customer Service with good communication skills
- Good knowledge and experience in warehouse health and safety requirements
- Ability to work as part of a team with other staff to coordinate the movement of goods and able to use own initiative.
- Experience with working to tight schedules.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment.
